Woman killed in Butuan City fire

MANILA, Philippines – A woman was killed and millions worth of properties went up in smoke in a predawn fire that razed three houses and a church in Butuan City Sunday, police said Monday.
Superintendent Martin Gamba, Caraga police spokesman, said the fire hit the house owned by Dinna Onita Quibol, 53, in Purok Magimbuhaton, Barangay (village) Agusan Pequeño around 4 a.m.
He said the fire also damaged adjacent houses owned by Emma Libatique and Judelyn Calo, as well as the church of the New Life in Christ Fellowship.
Firefighters put the blaze under control some 30 minutes later.
Gamba said Jodelyn Onita Quibol, 31, was killed in the fire.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
