8th CDU Run kicks off on Aug. 18

THE CEBU Doctors University (CDU) University Run will hold its eighth edition on Aug. 18 starting at the CDU campus at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

The running event is organized by the Run for Sight and Larrazabal Eye Group. It will once again be a “Three-Bridge Challenge” as 25-kilometer runners will have to pass through the Marcelo Fernan Bridge, the first Mandaue/Lapu-Lapu Bridge and the Cansaga Bridge.

Aside from the 25k, there will also be 13k, 6k and 3k categories.

The winners in the 25k event will take home P5,000 cash prize along with P25,000 worth of Sun Life Personal Accident insurance and running shirts. In the 13k race, the winning runners will get P3,000 and also P25,000 worth of Sun Life personal accident insurance.

In the 3k and 6k open, medals and other goodies will be given to the winners.

Registration fee is set at P600 for the 25k, P500 for the 13k, P350 for the 6k and P300 for the 3k. To register, one can visit the Run For Sight Office at the CDU Hospital and at the CDU Campus.  /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
