Army’s 1st division commander Brigadier-General Lucero dies
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Brig. Gen. Daniel Lucero, the commander of the Philippine Army’s 1st Tabak Infantry Division, died on Sunday, after feeling dizzy and then experiencing a cardiac arrest.
Gen. Noel Coballes, commanding general of the Philippine Army, said Lucero had just come from a dive in Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, when he complained of dizziness.
“After diving, he went for a short walk and complained of dizziness. Then he was rushed to the hospital,” Coballes said.
“We were told he died of cardiac arrest but this is not yet final. I am waiting for the full report about this,” he said.
“It is sad to lose a good officer, a good man like Lucero,” Coballes added.
