Two men were shot dead in separate incidents in barangay Buanoy, Balamban town, southwest Cebu.
Police said the killing of Eugene Ian Acha and Jimmy Badiang could be drug-related.
Police investigation revealed that Acha was standing outside a barber shop when he was repeatedly shot by an unidentified man past 8 p.m. last Friday.
The assailant wore a hard hat and uniform jacket of Tsuneishi Heavy Industries, a shipbuilding company, police said.
Police said Acha, who was believed to be in his 30’s, was a native of barangay Tisa, Cebu City.
SPO1 Jose Villarino, Balamban police investigator, said Acha was allegedly intermittently selling illegal drugs.
Police recovered four empty shells and two deformed slugs for a .45 caliber pistol from the crime scene.
About two hundred meters away, Badiang was fatally shot inside his rented room past 3 a.m. yesterday.
Badiang was found by his boardmate, Onesimo Cudes, with a gunshot wound in the back.
Cudes told police he heard a single gunshot from Badiang’s room.
Cudes checked on Badiang and found him lying face down in a pool of blood.
Villarino said that according to some neighbors, Badiang was involved in selling drugs.
Badiang was a native of Surigao del Norte and worked as a contractor in Tsuneishi.
