Group invites fellows to playwriting workshop

THE Women in Literary Arts (Wila) is calling for fellows to the seminar-workshop on playwriting.

The playwriting workshop, entitled “Dula sa Dila,” will be held on July 11-13, in partnership with the Bathalan-ong Halad sa Dagang (Bathalad).

The workshop is supported by a grant from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

Applicants must be into the playwriting endeavor for at least a year, with documented work accomplishments, and residents of Central Visayas. They must submit a one-act play in Cebuano or English, together with their curriculum vitae.

Files in .doc file must be e-mailed to Raphael Polinar at [email protected] or to Haidee Palapar at [email protected].

Plays must be written in Arial or Times New Roman with 11 font size. Submission deadline is June 15.

Successful applicants will be notified through email.

Fellows will get free fare and board and lodging during the July 12-13 workshop.

The seminar on July 11 is open to literature and drama teachers, with a registration fee of P2,000 to cover lunch, snacks and kits.

Topics will cover writing and producing a play. Award-winning playwrights are slated to speak.
