Warlito Laborte sustained gunshot wounds in the stomach and hand.

The suspects, Daniel Ongcol, 29 and Arnel Gomez, 36, were arrested by police in a follow-up operation.

Police said a personal grudge was the motive of the attack.

Police said the victim was walking toward a toilet outside of his house when he was attacked past 8 a.m. yesterday.

The victim was taken to the Cebu City Medical Center.

During the arrest, a 9mm caliber pistol was recovered from the possession of Gomez, said SPO1 Victor Ayuman, homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

Police said no gun was recovered from Ongcol as he was able to throw it before they were cornered.

Charges for frustrated murder and illegal possession of firearms will be filed against the suspects who were detained at the San Nicolas police station.

Police said Gomez is a suspected gun-for-hire.

Gomez was arrested at a checkpoint on March last year where firearms were seized from his possession.
