USC, CIT–U dispute last championship seat of Enervon-Cesafi Partner’s Cup hoop

For the second time this season, the Cebu Landmasters-University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors and the San Marino Corned Tuna-Cebu Institute of Technology University (CIT-U) Wildcats are on a collision course for yet another crucial spot in the playoffs.

Only this time, a finals berth is at stake when the two squads battle in the final day of the semifinal round of the 2013 Enervon-Cesafi Partner’s Cup today at the Cebu Coliseum.

Gametime is at 5:30 pm with the winner of the clash advancing to the best-of-three finals series opposite the defending champions Prime Asia-University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers.

It wasn’t long ago that these two teams clashed for positioning as they had to go through a playoff game to determine which team would clinch the third seed.

In that game, the Wildcats emerged victorious, 94-79, to take the third seed.

CIT-U started off on a right note in the semifinal round, beating the Gaisano Capital South-University of Cebu, 101-79, before getting hammered by the Lancers, 67-83.

The Warriors, on the other hand, got beaten by the Lancers, 57-73, but bounced back and routed the Webmasters, 116-84.

In the first game this afternoon, the Lancers aim to remain unbeaten and extend their winning streak to 13 games when they duke it out with the Webmasters.
