Cebu Inter Port turns back Global Rollway

THE Cebu Inter Port Users threaded the eye of the needle before coming away with a 91-90 win over Global Rollway in the Cebu Customs Invitational Tournament 2013 at the Benedicto College Gym.

The Warships were down by nine at the onset of the fourth but turned their fortunes around with a searing run led by Ramil Aninon and Francis Palero.

It was a back-and-forth battle all period long but the game remained tied at 90-all after a freethrow by Alain Tarona. Fortunately for the Warships, Aninon got fouled and gave them the lead and eventually the win by splitting his charities with seven seconds remaining.

Palermo led CIPU with17 points while Primitivo Mondin added 16. In the other game, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) banked on the return of Engel Sievert to get back at the Bureau of Customs (BOC), 84-75. Meanwhile, MJDL streaked to its fifth straight win as it toppled CCBI, 124-53. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
