MANILA, Philippines—A bank manager was shot dead after by a motorcycle-riding suspect in Manila early Monday, police said.
The Manila Police District Tactical Operations Center said Rosemarie Gatan, Bank of the Philippine Islands Taft Avenue branch was killed near the National Bureau of Investigation office around 9:06 a.m.
Police said the attacker drove near her vehicle and opened fire.
A radio report said Gatan was still able to drive some 200 meters before hitting a post.
Gatan was rushed at the Medical Center Manila and died while undergoing treatment.
A radio report quoted Attorney Andres Mendoza, godfather of the victim, as saying that Gatan was hit on the left side of her neck and exited on the right side.
Police have yet to identify the suspect and determine the motive behind the attack.
