Games today (Cebu Coliseum)
4 p.m. – Gaisano Capital South vs. Cebu Landmasters
6 p.m. – Prime Asia vs. San Marino
One team will be advancing to the finals today as the semifinal round of the 2013 Enervon-Cesafi Partner’s Cup continues with a double-header at the Cebu Coliseum.
Reigning champions Prime Asia-University of the Visayas Green Lancers stake their unbeaten run tonight against the feisty San Marino Corned Tuna-Cebu Institute of Technology Wildcats. The two teams overcame their respective opponents at the start of this round the other day which means that the winner of today’s game will advance to the final round.
UV outhustled the Cebu Landmasters-University of San Carlos Warriors, 73-57 while CIT clobbered the Gaisano Capital South-University of Cebu Webmastes, 101-79.
The Warriors and the Webmasters tangle in the first game today hoping to keep their title chances alive. However, UC will be playing without their star import, Arnaud Noah, who was suspended for a game after getting ejected the other night against CIT.
UV will have their hands full trying to contain the fearsome-foursome of Floyd Taboada, Allen Dimco, Joshua dela Cerna and Vincent Menguito. Together, they combined to score 81 points against UC with Menguito tallying a game-high 26.
The Lancers though, are expected to lean on their guile led by crafty guard John Abad and the league’s ROY-MVP Wowie Escosio.
