Mexican trainer predicts knockout win for Perea

Veteran Jimrex ‘Executioner’ Jaca (37-6-3, 21KOs) will face an old enemy he met eight years ago this Saturday night in one of the co-main events of Pinoy Pride XX: Laban Kung Laban at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
This, after his opponent Mexican Jose Emilio Perea brought in his trainer Ernesto Salgado Garcia who was beside WBO Welterweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez when the Mexican Dynamite beat Jaca in 2006 for the WBO interim featherweight title in Texas, USA. Garcia is the conditioning coach of Marquez at that time, teaming up with legendary Mexican trainer Nacho Berestain.
“We all witnessed that fight in Texas and although I can say that Jaca is a warrior inside the ring, I know that my boxer (Perea) will win by knock-out on Saturday night,” said Garcia during yesterday’s press conference at the Allure Hotel and Suites.
Perea was also in the presscon along with Indonesian Isack Junior (20-3-2, 8KOs) who will face undefeated ALA Boxing Gym stalwart Genesis “Azukal” Servania (19-0, 7KOs).
“We had a high altitude training in Mexico and a lot of conditioning, Perea’s skills will be determined inside the ring because he wants to fight toe-to-toe,” said Garcia who also added that he already trained 15 world champions including Marquez, Rafael Marquez, Jesus Chavez and Orlando Salido.
WRONG FIGHT RECORD
Meanwhile, Perea corrected his fight record from 22-2,14KOs as reported by Boxrec.com to 31-2, 20KOs saying his real fight record is far more lethal than what was earlier reported.
“I am very prepared for this fight because I know that Jaca is a great boxer, I’ve trained for this fight for months and I am confident of winning,” Perea.
Meanwhile, Junior vowed to put a stain on the unblemished record of Ilonggo Servania. Having fought Filipino Bert Batawang for the WBO Asia Pacific super flyweight title in 2011 in Indonesia and his tough experience in Japan, Junior said that he has all the attributes to beat Servania.
“I will show everybody how good I am so that they will respect me,” said Junior.
After this Saturday’s fight, Servania will see action on July 27 in the undercard of the WBA world super flyweight battle between Milan “El Metodico” Melindo and Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada in Macau, China.
The Pinoy Pride 20 final press conference will be held today at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino while the card’s official weigh-in will be held tomorrow at the SM City Cebu Event Center.
