A MAN was apprehended yesterday for illegally posting posters on the fence of the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
Junnel Amimita, a resident of Cebu City, was also caught attaching posters of a trade show on the trees within the complex.
A city ordinance prohibits the posting of any form of posters, streamers, billboards or signages in the area, said Placido Jerusalem, head of the city’s enforcement team for solid waste management program.
“Violation gyud ang ilang gibuhat kay even mga campaign posters wala gani tuguti nga ipapilit didto sa mga kahoy (What he did was really a violation because even campaign posters are not allowed to be posted on the trees.)
Posters weighing 20 kilos were confiscated from the man, who failed to present papers showing that he was authorized to attach posters in the area.
After the apprehension, Amimita was instructed to secure a permit. Failing to do so would lead to the filing of charges against him and a P5,000 fine, Jerusalem said./CNU INTERN JEANYMAE ARDIENTE
