Game today:
Araneta Coliseum
7:30 p.m.- Petron vs. Talk N Text
After a rousing win in Game 3, the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters try to inch closer to completing a rare grand slam when they play the Petron Blaze Boosters today in Game 4 of the 36th PBA Governors’ Cup Best-of-Seven Finals at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Texters handily defeated the Boosters in Game 3, erecting leads of as many as 40 points for an overpowering 132-105 triumph.
With its offense clicking, the Texters have been very dominant in the last two games of the series following an 88-89 heart-breaker of a loss in Game 1. Talk ‘N Text also scored a lopsided win in Game 2, 105-83.
“When our offense went clicking it kind of showed how deflated they are,” Talk ‘N Text coach Chot Reyes told pba.ph
The Boosters’ depleted line-up seemed to have finally caught with them but Reyes warned his wards not to let their guard down.
“I have too much respect for (Petron coach) Ato Agustin to do anything,” Reyes said. “The key for us now is to stay composed and be patient.”
“All it means right now is that we have a 2-1 lead. But we’re still long way to go. So we really, really have to come prepared and continue to put the pressure on them,” Reyes added.
A win today will bring Talk N Text closer to joining the Crispa Redmanizers, San Miguel Beermen and Alaska Aces as grand-slam champion teams.
