Pregnant woman killed in road accident
A 36-YEAR-old pregnant woman died after she was sideswiped by a speeding multicab along the national highway in barangay Mantalungon, Barili town, southwest of Cebu.
Two others were also injured after they too were hit by the Multicab driven by Nelson Gingoyon, barangay captain of Guibuangan, yesterday afternoon.
Lime Navarro, who was seven months pregnant, died due to severe head and body injuries.
Navarro’s niece, Eva Mae Salazar, 8, and Joemar Bertoldo, 23, suffered body injuries.
Investigation showed that Navarro and her niece were walking along the highway on their way home from hearing Mass from the church when the Multicab rammed into them.
The impact threw Navarro off the road and landing into the concrete pavement. The multicab also hit another bystander Bertoldo who was sitting in front of the house when the accident happened.
