Robbed

A 20-YEAR-old woman was shot and wounded after she was held up by three men in barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday.

Vera Cristy Berdin, a service crew member of McDonald’s Mactan Newtown, was brought to the hospital after she sustained a gunshot wound in the stomach.

Investigation showed that Berdin, of barangay Canjulao, was waiting for a passenger jeepney after visiting a friend in the area at past 1 a.m. when three men on a motorcycle stopped near her.

The backrider pulled out a gun and asked her to hand over her phone. When she refused, the robber shot her in the stomach, grabbed her phone, and fled.

The wounded Berdin managed to seek help from bystanders, who brought her to the hospital.

Stabbed dead

A man stabbed dead his neighbor, whom he accused of taking advantage of his wife in barangay Sirao, Cebu City.

Giovanni Soquib, who was stabbed in the body, died before the reaching the hospital.

Police said Medio confronted Soquib about his wife’s claims but they ended up arguing.

Medio said when Soquib raised his voice, he pulled out his knife and stabbed Soquib.

Killed

Two construction workers were killed in separate incidents in barangays Kamagayan and Mambaling, Cebu City yesterday.

At 7 a.m., the body of Edmar Inocencio San Andres, 29,  was found with gunshot wounds in the back, chest and arm in sitio Wangyu, Alaska, Mambaling.

Police were still investigating the incident.

At 8 a.m., Bernard Arela, 21, was found dead inside the City Centre bunkhouse.

Arela had several bruises in his body and a wound in his head.

Hit by burglars

Burglars struck at the JMU Marketing Packaging Co. in barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City and fled with at least P30,000 cash, gadgets, and a security guard’s firearm last Saturday.
