Cebu mayor’s son arrested

CEBU CITY — The son of Mayor Socrates Fernandez of Talisay City, Cebu was arrested by the police at 9:30 a.m. Monday at a beach in Sitio (subvillage) Bas Dako, Barangay Saavedra, Moalboal town, around 90 kilometers from this city.

Joavan Fernandez was about to board a motor banca to Negros Island when he was arrested.

Senior Superintendent Patrocinio Commendador Jr., Cebu provincial police chief, said that the police seized a .45 caliber pistol from Joavan.
