The towns of western Batangas have just finished an especially cheerful holiday season thanks to Leandro Legarda Leviste.
Leviste, the country’s youngest billionaire entrepreneur and now philanthropist, gave over 300,000 noche buena packs to every family in all 284 barangays of western Batangas, comprised of Nasugbu, Lian, Calatagan, Tuy, Balayan, Calaca, Lemery, and Taal.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, there were 155,978 households in these towns as of 2020, with Leviste distributing more than one noche buena pack per family.
To repair buildings damaged by Typhoon Kristine, Leviste also gave over 200,000 pieces of yero for over 30,000 homes, schools, churches, and covered courts.
Leviste also personally funded repair work for Balayan’s Binambang bridge, Lian’s Puting Kahoy bridge, and various other damaged buildings in Nasugbu, Calatagan, Tuy, Calaca, Lemery, and Taal.
Leviste also organized a Christmas concert dubbed “Paskong Todo-Todo sa Unang Distrito” on December 21, 2024, in Nasugbu, Batangas.
With a star-studded line-up of artists, including Flow G, Andrea Brillantes, Alex Gonzaga, Toni Gonzaga, and Parokya ni Edgar, the concert drew over 40,000 people from all over western Batangas, making it the largest single concert in the history of Batangas.
Senator Loren Legarda expressed her pride in her son’s efforts to bring cheer to the community this holiday season.
“Bilang ina, labis akong natutuwa sa aking anak na si Leandro dahil adhikain niya ang tumulong sa ating mga kababayan. Ang mga programang ito ay patunay ng kanyang malasakit at dedikasyon na maghatid ng saya at pagkakaisa sa unang distrito ng Batangas,” Legarda said.
“Just as the first district saw the largest events and programs in Batangas this year, I hope this shows that we can make the first district the most prosperous district in Batangas in the coming years,” Leviste said.
“I would also like to thank our local partners and supporters, without whom the implementation of these programs and projects would not have been possible,” Leviste added.
In October, Leviste filed his candidacy for Batangas 1st District Representative, with a stated goal of turning the 1st district into the most developed district of Batangas.
Leviste’s campaign has gained the support of all the 1st district’s municipal mayors and groups across the district’s 284 barangays.
