Green Lantern leads Cekalco hoop

The Michael Sameon-led Green Lantern beat Yellow Submarine, 66-59, for its 5th win in six games and the solo lead in the Juniors division of the CEKALCO-2013, Mayor Mike Rama Cup Inter-color basketball tournament at the A. Lopez open court in Labangon.

Green Lantern rolled to an, 18-13 lead in the first period and maintained its single-digit lead the rest of the way.

Opoy Escolar led Green Lantern with 18 points while pointguard Glen Aro and skipper Michael Sameon added 14 points apiece.

RJ Mejellano and Jeros Ceriola paced Yellow Submarine (2-4) with 15 and 12 markers.

FEATURED STORIES

In the other games, Black Label scored a come-from-behind, 79-72 win over Maroon to even their records at 4-3 (win-loss).

Maroon led by single digits in the first 3 periods but cooled in the fourth allowing Black Label to steal the win with a blistering 22-11 endgame run.

Ian Cacharro led Black with 25 points while Rogen Rosales paced Maroon with 29 markers.
