DAANBANTAYAN Mayor Maria Luisa Loot is ending her long reign as mayor after losing to an old rival, Engr. Augusto Corro of the Liberal Party.

Corro of the Liberal Party-Cebu received 18,101 votes against Loot’s 15,700 votes.

Corro’s running mate Gilbert Arrabis Jr. got 18,534 votes against his rival Renato Te, who received 13,462 votes.

.Corro said he won because  people got angry  after Loot ordered the closure of private cemeteries.
