Cebuana Lhuillier downs Cagayan Valley
The Cebuana Lhuillier Gems kept their hopes for a berth in the quarterfinals alive as they defeated the Cagayan Valley Rising Suns, 63-54, in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup yesterday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The win capped off their elimination round stint with a 6-5 (win-loss) record.
Jelo Montecastro and Raymund Aguilar each had 13 points to lead the way for Cebuana Lhuillier.
The Gems joined the Rising Suns and Big Chill at fifth place as the quarterfinal picture remained uncertain with one playdate left in the eliminations. The third to sixth-placed teams will advance to the quarterfinals with the highest records having twice-to-beat advantages. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
