BATANGAS CITY – Seven persons were arrested at a checkpoint along Maharlika Highway in Sto. Tomas town Monday night for alleged violation of the gun ban, police said Tuesday morning.
Superintendent Barnard Danie Dasugo, Sto. Tomas town police chief, said two unlicensed guns were seized from the seven who were on board a van along Barangay (village) Sanpablonayan at 10 p.m.
In a phone interview Tuesday morning, Dasugo said two unlicensed pistols, a .9 mm-cal. and a .38-cal. and several ammunitions were confiscated from the seven.
Dasugo identified the seven as Alberto Puray 33; Romie Puray, 39; Del Lidasan, 51; George Rodriguez, 43; Teobert Depay, 33; Emilio Gavarra, 42 and Holito Velasco, 59. The latter was the van driver.
