LEGAZPI CITY — Eric Dioneda, an independent candidate for governor in Sorsogon, is now leading against Raul Lee of the United Nationalist Alliance.
As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the tally from the Commission on Elections transparency server said Dioneda got 70,264 or 43.59 percent of the votes, while Lee had 69,659 or 43.21 percent of the votes.
A previous tally posted on the Comelec website showed Lee defeating Dioneda, 29, by garnering 18,004 votes over Lee’s 12,253 votes.
Lee is up for reelection for governor while his wife Sally (UNA) is up against the incumbent mayor Leovic Dioneda (NPC), father of Eric.
The Liberal Party’s gubernatorial candidate, Renato Laurinaria, is trailing in the Comelec tally.
