Ebdane son concedes Zambales Congress fight
OLONGAPO CITY, Philippines -— In what could be an upset, the daughter of former Zambales Gov. Amor Deloso, Cheryl Deloso-Montalla of the Liberal Party, defeated reelectionist Zambales Rep. Jun Omar Ebdane in the race for the province’s second congressional district.
Although no official tally of votes had been released by the Commission on Elections, Ebdane, son of reelectionist Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr., conceded defeat late Monday night.
In a message posted on his Facebook account (www.facebook.com/junomar.ebdane?fref=ts) at past 10 p.m., the young Ebdane wished that the “next representative (referring to Montalla) do her job.”
“Well, I guess the people have decided to terminate my services. I’ve done all I could to lift us by taking taking care of the students and the district,” said Ebdane, a member of the Sulong Zambales Party.
Former Governor Deloso is the opponent of Ebdane’s father in the gubernatorial race.
