Poe, Legarda pace early Senate tally

MANILA, Philippines — Double counts aside, Team PNoy senatorial candidate Grace Poe still emerged on top of the list of the unofficial tally of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) for the midterm elections.
As of 9:04 p.m. Poe has received 6,836,542 votes in the poll watchdog’s tally.
She was followed by Senator Loren Legarda who garnered 6,182,096 votes.
The PPCRV has earlier put down its earlier data on the first transmissions from polling precincts, saying that there had been a “double count.”
Article continues after this advertisementAna De Villa-Singson, PPCRV’s media director earlier issued a statement maintaining that while a check on the transparency server indicated that the “data is correct” there had been an issue on how it was formatted.
“Two passes” on the data culled by PPCRV were done to make sure that the figures they released were verified.
