Elderly voter dies while waiting for turn to vote in General Santos

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines — A 70-year-old voter died when she collapsed while waiting for her turn to vote at the Lagao National High School in Monday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Marcelina David, a resident of Guevarra Sudbivision here.

Catherine Karlon, the victim’s companion, told reporters that before losing consciousness, David complained about the scorching heat.

The victim was brought to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
