Palace official unhurt in gun attack in Cagayan

MANILA, Philippine—Unidentified men opened fire at a vehicle boarded by Presidential Legislative Liaison Officer Secretary Manuel Mamba in Cagayan, but no one was hurt, police said.

Inspector Cesar Orlanes, Cagayan Police Provincial Police Office spokesman, said the incident took place in Centro Norte Alcala in Cagayan around 2 p.m. when Mamba was cruising along the area on a Ford Expedition with license plate ZFD 850.

Mamba was unhurt, but his vehicle’s right window was hit twice.

Orlanes said authorities have yet to identify the assailants and establish the motive behind the attack.
