IMUS CITY – Cavite Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic ” Remulla arrived 7 a.m. at the polling precinct here, saying he wanted to spend the rest of the day with his family.

Remulla, who is seeking reelection under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats, came with his wife Aggie and his 80-year-old father and former governor Juanito “Johnny” Remulla .

Election inspectors, however, asked the 45-year-old governor to wait for a few minutes as they were still waiting for the lone technician assigned at the precinct to start the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines in Barangay (village) Toclong.

Asked by reporters how he felt after months of campaigning, “I felt relieved.”

“I wanted to spend the day with the kids. Isa pa, mukang uulan [One more thing, it migh rain],” he said.

Remulla’s brothers, Crispin and Gilbert, who are also candidates, also voted early. Crispin voted in Tagaytay City where he is running for mayor against the wife of outgoing Mayor Abraham Tolentino, while Gilbert voted in Indang town where is running for 7th district representative.

Remulla distanced himself from the tension rising in Bacoor City, the bailiwick of his running mate Jolo, the son of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla.

He said he only learned about the arrest of the National Bureau Investigation agents, manning the Revillas’ home on Monday morning, on his way to the polling center.
