Beermen log 15th straight ABL win
The San Miguel Beermen made it 15 wins in a row as they repeated over the Sport Rev Thailand Slammers, 76-59, in the Asean Basketball League last Saturday evening at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The 40-year old Asi Taulava presided over several runs in the game’s early stages to break away early and set the tone for the one-sided rout.
The win hiked San Miguel’s record to 18-3 (win-loss) with one more game left on the elimination round schedule.
Taulava, experiencing a renaissance of sorts with his energetic play, had nine of his 15 points in the first half. He also collared 11 of his 12 rebounds in that stretch. Import Justin Williams had 10 points and 14 rebounds on top six blocks./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
