The reigning champions Prime Asia-University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers aim to make a clean sweep of the elimination round and gain outright entry into the semifinals when they battle rivals Gaisano Capital South-University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters in the 2013 Enervon-Cesafi Partner’s Cup today at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Green Lancers upended the Cebu Landmasters-University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, 94-71, Thursday night in San Remegio to race their winning streak to nine games, just one away from completing an incredible sweep of this round.
In contrast, the Webmasters have redemption in their sights after they got upset in their last outing at the hands of the Lion Tiger-University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers, 69-72.
The loss dropped the Webmasters to 6-3 (win-loss), enough for a precarious hold of second place.
In other games of the triple-header today, the Panthers battle the San Marino Corned Tuna-Cebu Institute of Technology Wildcats while the Warriors take on the winless Raphael’s Sports Bar-University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars.
