SOGOD VICE MAYOR SUES BRGY CHIEF FOR DISRUPTING CAMPAIGN

Reelectionist Sogod town Vice Mayor Nicasio “Nick” Bacayo pressed charges of grave threat against Tabunok village chief Crisfin Reteza Jr. before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office last Tuesday.

The charges stemmed from Reteza’s alleged verbal abuse on the Bacayo, a One Cebu bet, during a rally in barangay Tabunok last Saturday.

Reteza, reportedly a supporter of the Liberal Party said he disapproved of the use of the barangay’s covered court as it has still to be inaugurated.

KUSUG TO VOTE STRAIGHT TEAM RAMA

The Kugi Uswag Sugbo (Kusug) party of former Cebu City Mayor Alvin Garcia has endorsed the whole slate of Team Rama.

Garcia said it is important to also support the city councilor bets under Team Rama because the executive will be at the mercy of the City Council. He cited how Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama struggled with the current City Council dominated by the Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK).

Last March, Garcia’s party committed to support Rama, his vice mayoral bet Councilor Edgar Labella and congressional bets Aristotle Batuhan (south district) and Anabelle Rama (north district.)

However, Garcia said they “will be crossing party lines” in their choice of senatoriables.

RADAZA REMOVES ILLEGAL POSTERS

The Commission on Election in Lapu-Lapu City called the attention of Team Deretso over election materials posted in areas non-designated poster areas.

The order stemmed from an April 25 complaint filed mayoralty candidate Efrain Pelaez, Jr. of the Liberal Party, complaining of campaign materials of reelectionist Mayor Paz Radaza’s group littering the city.

Taking no time, Mayor Paz Radaza brought her team yesterday morning to the streets and started removing their election campaign materials mostly in Barangays Looc and Canjulao.

“We have been instructing our supporters about the Comelec guidelines in posting election campaign materials but maybe they were too eager to campaign for me, thus, they have been placing it anywhere.” Radaza said.
