THE NATIONAL University Bulldogs kept their record squeaky clean as they won their sixth straight game after outlasting the Adamson Soaring Falcons, 70-68, in overtime in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Preseason Cup yesterday at the Arena in San Juan City.
The Bulldogs once again turned to two-time UAAP MVP Bobby Ray Parks, who scored the last four points for NU, including the game-winning jumper.
He finished with 28 points on an efficient 9-of-15 shooting from the floor while Alfred Aroga had 20 points and 16 boards.
Parks’ heroics made up for his missed shot in regulation that could have won the game outright for the reigning champions. Instead, they remained tied at 62-all as their last ditch lob pass play failed to materialize with 0.3 of a second left.
Adamson appeared to be in control in overtime as they took a 68-64 lead but NU came right back behind Parks.
The Falcons still had a shot at taking the win but Jansen Rios failed to convert on his drive attempt leading to the jumper by Parks. Jericho Cruz heaved the ball from halfcourt but the shot hit the front of the rim./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
