7 suspected hired guns nabbed in Quezon
LUCENA CITY, Philippines—Police arrested seven suspected guns-for-hire in simultaneous raids in the towns of San Antonio and Tiaong in Quezon early morning Wednesday.
In a text message, Senior Superintendent Dionardo Carlos, Quezon police chief, said the lawmen seized five firearms, assorted ammunition and one kilo of marijuana leaves from the suspects who were arrested in coordinated operations by policemen from Batangas, Laguna and Quezon at 5:30 a.m.
Chief Inspector Edcille Casals, Quezon police public information officer, identified two of the arrested suspects as Isagani Mangundayao, chairman of Barangay Pulo in San Antonio, and Domingo Uri, a resident of the same village.
He said the raids were conducted on the strength of search warrants signed by Judge Cynthia Marino-Recablanca of Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
Casals said the lawmen were still investigating the suspects.
