Did you know: Lope K. Santos

Wednesday, May 1, is the 50th death anniversary of writer Lope K. Santos. Born in Pasig in 1879, he was elected senator during which he authored the law on Andres Bonifacio Day and sponsored bills to help the condition of workers. A former director of the Institute of National Language, he wrote “Balarila ng Wikang Pambansa” which became the official textbook for teaching the national language.
