MANILA, Philippines – Authorities are looking for the alleged 11-year-old killer of a youth council chairperson in Capiz Wednesday, police said Thursday.

Citing a report from Capiz police, Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., Philippine National Police spokesman, said the victim was the 16-year-old chairman of the Sangguniang Kabataan (youth council) at Barangay (village) Poblacion in Tapaz town who was shot and killed at 1 p.m. by his 11-year-old cousin whose identity was not disclosed because he was a minor.

Senior Police Officer 1 Roxannie Ayayo of Capiz police said that the suspect went to his parents’ room and grabbed his father’s 12 gauge shotgun after being teased by the victim. The suspect fled immediately after the shooting and has not been found by authorities since, she disclosed.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound on his left arm and was rushed to the Tapaz District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival, said Ayayo.
