2 Chinese nationals among 3 arrested in Pasay drug bust
MANILA, Philippines—Three people were arrested, including two Chinese nationals, and about one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” was seized in a buy bust operation in Pasay City Monday afternoon.
Superintendent Ismael Fajardo Jr. said the operation, led by PNP’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force-Special Operation Unit 3, was conducted along Blue Wave, Metropolitan Park in Barangay (village) 76, Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City around 1:30 p.m.
He said arrested persons were Li Meimei, 41; Romeo David Ong, 49; and Esmeraldo de los Santos, 54.
Aside from the suspected shabu, also confiscated were the boodle money worth P2.2 million, separate P3,560 cash, assorted identification cards and documents, two vehicles, and four cell phones.
“Arrested suspects were apprised of their constitutional rights,” Fajardo said, adding that inventory and taking of photographs were conducted at the location of the operation in the presence of witnesses as required by law.
