Lose some, win some for 2 foreigners

It was a happy ending for an American who lost—and found—his iPhone 4S on Thursday.

But   not so   for another foreigner who is still missing his bag containing a laptop, cell phones and important documents.

John Knudsun sought the assistance of the Northern Police District’s Special Operations Unit  on Friday when  he discovered that his iPhone 4S was missing.

Police  used the phone’s built-in Global Positioning System (GPS) capability to track down the phone that was later traced to a house in Barangay 171, Bagumbong, Caloocan City.

Police scoured the area and found the phone, which was later returned to Knudsun. It is not yet known if a suspect had been identified in the incident, or if the victim will file charges

Meanwhile, David Charles Sutherland, a British national and an  official of the World Health Organization, lost his bag while he was dining with  his staff   inside a restaurant at Robinsons mall in Ermita, Manila, also  on Thursday.

Sutherland told police that he put the bag containing a laptop, two cell phones, his passport and other important documents under the table in between his legs before proceeding to eat.

He added that he  could not imagine how  one would be able to get his bag that he thought was  already in a “secured” position.
