Aying Sportswear, YMTEC in finals

YMTEC crushed Masong Construction, 92-82 while powerhouse Aying Sportswear drubbed McMill, 96-82 last Sunday to arrange a finals showdown this Sunday in the Sambag 2 Basketball Athletic Association (S2BAA)-2011 basketball tournament at sitio Kawayan covered court.

Aying Sportswear led from start to finish for the 14-point demolition.

Rey Potot and Oliver Sonsona scattered a game-high 24 and 16 points, respectively for Aying Sportswear while Danry Baclay and Dennis Borinaga paced McMill with 19 and 18 points, respectively.

In the other game, YMTEC had a sluggish start resulting to an early 6-17 deficit but responded with a 24-15 run behind Dodong Elizalde and Bagtong Miñoza to trail by just two, 30-32 at the half.

A blistering 35-12 run by YMTEC in the third tore the game apart before Masong responded with a 38-27 run in the fourth to peg the final count.

Robert Ortega topped YMTEC with 16 points while Dodong Elizalde and Benz Amit added 12 points each. Michael Cruz and Bong Mediano paced Masong Construction with a game-high 25 and 19 points, respectively.
