Burglars struck two houses in Minglanilla town in southern Cebu and Mandaue City in the past two days fleeing with nearlyP200,000 worth of gadgets, cash and clothes.

Last Wednesday, thieves entered Gilbert Pilapil’s house in barangay Lipata, Minglanilla and stole an Asus computer tablet, Samsung computer tablet, a computer laptop, and two cell phones.

Pilapil, who works the night shift, discovered the burglary when he arrived at 10 a.m.

He reported the incident to police.

Yesterday in Mandaue City, burglars also entered two rooms in a lady’s dormitory in barangay Bakilid.

Ivy Marie Estoce, 23, and her roommate Amor Payabyab, 28, lost an iPad 4 computer tablet worth at least P35,000, cash amounting to P2,000, and their identification cards.

Another victim was Stephanie Piccio, a call center agent, who lost her laptop worth P23,000 and cell phone worth P7,000, clothes and worth at least P4,000.

Shot

A gunman shot and seriously wounded a 40-year-old man inside his house in barangay Poblacion,Cordova town last Wednesday.

Alexander Berdin, a trisikad driver, was brought to the hospital where doctors declared him in serious condition.

Berdin was shot in the stomach by a man who barged in their house at 11:50 p.m.

Berdin was sleeping beside his wife when the unidentified gunman shot him.

Fire

A fire last Wednesday evening razed three houses and gutted two others in barangay Cawayan, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.

Senior Fire Officer 3 Julde Deposa, dalaguete fire investigator, pegged the damage to property at P160,000.

Deposa said the unattended embers of a charcoal in Rebecca Deposa’s kitchen started the fire at 9:45 p.m.

SFO3 Deposa said they received the call at 10:33 p.m. and when they reached the area three houses were already razed.

Deposa said the residents called late and the barangay was five kilometers from the fire station.
