Jack Enrile vows to help Cainta attain cityhood

CAINTA, RIZAL—United Nationalist Alliance senatorial candidate Jack Enrile on Tuesday vowed to help Cainta attain cityhood to boost socio-economic development and substantially improve living standards.

“Cainta is already a success story, being the richest municipality in the country at present. And it continues to attract business and industry because of its proximity to Metro Manila,” Enrile said in an interview with Radyo INQUIRER 990 AM.

“I commend the local government and the communities here for making Cainta into what it is now: a first-class, progressive and thriving municipality poised to attain even more remarkable growth in the years ahead,” Enrile pointed out.

The senatorial aspirant said he expected Cainta’s economy to grow even faster as various commercial and industrial firms, including call centers, have already set up shop in the burgeoning municipality.

Cityhood for Cainta, Enrile said, would greatly help in improving the quality of life of its residents.

With 311,845 inhabitants, Cainta now holds the record as the most populous municipality in the Philippines, per the 2010 Census of Population conducted by the National Statistics Office.

Enrile brought to this town east of Manila his advocacy of food security with his campaign slogan of “murang pagkain, maraming pagkain”.

The young Enrile is seeking to get a seat in the Senate with his platform of consumer protection from unscrupulous  businessmen engaged in unfair trade practices, and job creation especially for the marginalized sectors in society.

Enrile urged the residents of Cainta to vote for UNA’s senatorial line-up as they represent youthful idealism, proven competence as well as broad experience in public service that the country needs to move forward.
