4 arrested in QC drug bust

MANILA, Philippines–Four men were arrested and P250 million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) were confiscated following two separate drug busts in Quezon City early Monday, police said.

QCPD Acting District Director Police Senior Superintendent Richard Albano identified the suspects as Honorato Lo, 39, resident of Sta. Mesa, Manila; James Rosales, 26, of Parañaque City; Crisologo Puzon, 40, resident of Las Piñas; and Hue Mark Sy 39, resident of Sta. Cruz, Manila.

He said suspects Lo and Rosales were the first to be arrested in the first buy bust operation for ½ kilo of shabu around 4:30 a.m. at the corner Banawe and Makaturing streets in Barangay (village) Manresa, Quezon City.

Puzon and Sy were, meanwhile, were arrested during the second drug sting around 7:30 a.m., just some 300 meters from the first location.

The second operation led to the confiscation of roughly 39 kilos of shabu stashed in a car.

Albano said that while authorities have yet to identify the group of the four suspected drug traders, he said the modus of the group is to sell the vehicle containing shabu to avoid the need to transfer the illegal drugs from one vehicle to another.

“Magkasama na yung presyo ng drugs at nung sasakyan sa bayaran,” Albano said.

He said the confiscated shabu will be tested at the PNP Crime Laboratory.
