Ateneo volleybelles eye elimination round sweep

THE defending champions Ateneo Lady Eagles gun for a sweep of their games in their group when they face off against the La Salle-Dasmarinas in the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 First Conference at The Arena in San Juan today.

The Lady Eagles are looking good after sweeping their first three games, including over title contenders University of Santo Tomas Tigresses and the San Sebastian Lady Stags, making them the odds-on favorites against the Lady Patriots in the 4 p.m. Group A clash.

But the Cavite-based squad is going flat out for a victory, not only to stop the Lady Eagles but more importantly to nail a berth in the quarterfinals.

With a 1-1 (win-loss) card, La Salle-Dasma needs to win one of its last two matches to advance.

Adamson and Arellano, meanwhile, clash in the 2 p.m. opener in a Group B match with the Lady Falcons (1-1) hoping to join the unbeaten National U Lady Bulldogs (3-0) and the Lady Chiefs (2-1) in the next round.  /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
