Actor Joseph Bitangcol injured in road accident
MANILA, Philippines – Television actor Joseph Bitangcol and his companions were injured after their vehicle collided with a dump truck along Sumulong Highway in Antipolo City before dawn Wednesday, police said.
Antipolo police chief Superintendent Robino Elfa said Bitangcol was among the six injured persons rushed to the Amang Rodriguez Medical Center in Marikina City after the Mitsubishi Montero he and five other companions were on collided with an Isuzu dump truck. The area where the accident occurred was “curved,” said Elfa.
The police chief identified the other persons hurt in the accident as Vanessa Becina, Karria Isleta, Mark Cendeno, James de Luna and the vehicle’s driver Leandro Ong.
Truck driver Victor Beltran was taken under custody by police and will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property and multiple physical injuries.
