New medals set for distribution
ACTING Cebu Gov. Agnes Magpale is set to distribute the medals with newly approved designs from the provincial government.
In an interview yesterday, Magpale said the medals would be distributed by the end of the month.
The medals carry the logos of the provincial government, the Lapu-Lapu monument, and the Magellan’s cross.
Magpale said that the supplier presented to them the design and she approved it.
However, she said that, there are specifications that needed to be threshed out especially in the bidding of the medals.
Magpale added that she had to ask OIC Provincial Treasurer Manny Guial to have it reviewed.
“We wanted also to pay the supplier but we have to be very careful kay gamay rang sayop mamahimo tang masuspenso,” she said.
The Capitol was supposed to pay P520,000 for 2,600 medals from Suarez Arts Metal Technology, but these medals had to be delivered yet.
