REPORT any police officer who will violate the law, even traffic rules to the proper authorities.
Senior Supt. Mariano Natuel, Cebu City Police chief, made this call yesterday after he received reports from a concerned citizen about two police officers, who were photographed riding a motorcycle without wearing any crash helmets. The motorcycle they were riding on also had no plate numbers. The motorcycle was later found parked outside the Mabolo Police Station.
The concerned citizen said he took the photograph last Thursday at the street intersection near the White Gold House at the North Reclamation Area.
He also got the attention of a CITOM traffic enforcer about the policemen’s traffic violation and asked him if he would arrest them.
But the enforcer said that it would be up to superior of the policemen to impose sanctions on the police officers.
Chief Insp. Ryan Devaras, Mabolo police station chief, told CDN that they were still trying to identify the police officers involved.
Devaras said traffic rules violation would be a minor offense and if an officer would be found guilty he would be reprimanded or even suspended for up to 15 days. /Correspondent Tweeny M. Malinao
