Unbeaten Cebuano Donayre battles Delara in URCC card

THE much awaited Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight card of Universal Reality Combat Championships (URCC) in Manila dubbed “URCC: Unrivaled” will be held on April 27 at the SMX Convention Center in Manila.

Undefeated Cebuano MMA fighter, Vaughn “Spawn” Donayre (5-0) of the YawYan ArDigma and Deftac Cebu will face former URCC title contender Rex Delara of Ilo-ilo Combat Sports in the seventh of 10 fights.

Donayre recently scored a first round knock-out of Baguio’s Robert Buminaang via a knee strike that sent the latter down on the canvas unconscious.

That win opened the door for this title eliminator bout against Delara for the URCC lightweight division crown left vacant after Baguio City’s Honorio Banario bagged the featherweight crown in the One Fighting Championships in Kuala Lumpur.

Donayre is currently training both in the Deftac and YawYan Ardigma headquarters here in Cebu for the upcoming fight.

Meanwhile, Roy Doliguez of Elorde MMA and Lito Adiwang of Tribal Submission will open the 10-fight card in the pinweight division.

The second bout will pit Onyok Transmonte of Map/Sub Sport against Chinese Suri Guga of Ao Hai Ling MMA in the bantamweight division followed by the match pitting Mark Somes of Freestyle MMA vs. Melchor Cases in the middle weight division. This will be followed by Guga’s teammate Qing Long battling YawYan Kampilan’s MJ Abrillo (flyweight) and Fei Guo Lin also of Ao Hai Ling MMA facing YawYan Buhawi’s Alvin Ramirez (bantamweight).

Also fighting in the lightweight division are Edmund Velasco of Team Torogi vs. Angelito Manguray and Arvin Chan of D’ Elements/Safehouse vs. Froilan Sarenas of Submission Sports Philippines.

Andrew Benibe of Maic’s Gym and Will Chope of Phuket Top Team Thailand will wage war in the featherweight division while Dave Galera of the famed Lakay MMA in Baguio City will face Red Romero of Deftac in the bantamweight class.
