Foreigner believed to be drunk drowns in Manila Bay

MANILA, Philippines — A foreigner, believed to be a Liberian national, allegedly drowned in the waters of Manila Bay early Thursday, police said.

Police Officer 3 Jet Tajorera said the victim was identified as Abraham Weyah, based on a credit card that was found on his body.

He said there were reports which claimed that Weyah was seen drunk Wednesday evening, until police officers from MPD station 5 saw him drowning along the Baywalk area past 5 a.m.

Authorities rescued, tried but failed to revive him the victim, believed to be around 40 years old.
