High school graduates who passed the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (Upcat) and college students who want to shift to mass communication are encouraged to enrol in or apply for transfer to the UP Cebu Mass Communication program.
The four-year Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication program equips students theoretically and through practicum for cutting edge professional practice in the fields of journalism, radio and television broadcasting, advertising, public relations, development communication and multi-media production, media education and photojournalism.
UP Cebu’s mass communication alumni include award-winning editors, news directors, print, radio and television reporters, news anchors, page designers, advertising practitioners, information and communication officers, filmmakers, photographers, writers, multimedia producers and educators.
High school graduates who passed the Upcat need to process their enrollment with UP Cebu’s Mass Communication program on June 3.
Transferees or shiftees from other colleges or universities may file their application to shift or transfer to UP Cebu on or before May 3.
Application forms are available at the office of the Registrar. These should be filled out and presented to the office with the applicant’s transcript of records. The applicant’s general weighted average should not be less than 2.0. He or she should have earned 30 to 33 units in college. Qualified applicants are subject to reading and writing examinations and a panel interview.
