Kuratong baleleng ‘leader’ falls
An alleged leader of the Kuratong Baleleng robbery group was arrested in Bogo City, northern Cebu, last Sunday dawn.
Armed with an arrest warrant issued by Judge Edgar Chua of Branch 47 in San Fernando City, Pampanga, Leonardo Tabasan was arrested on charges of illegal possession of firearms in July 2005.
Cebu provincial police chief Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador said Tabasan was the leader of four other persons arrested in Medellin and Lapu-Lapu last week, where one of the suspects’ guns was the subject of ballistic operation in the Antonio Ouano murder probe.
Comendador said Tabasan’s group is involved in big-time robberies in the province as well as in Metro Manila.

Jason Taberos was declared dead by attending physicians when he was rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Center.
The suspect, Philip Cuizon, 28, fled after the incident.
Police investigation revealed Cuizon joined Taberos and his friends in a drinking session when he shot the victim in the chest and head after they argued.

Agent admin probe
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central office sent three investigators here in Cebu City to conduct an administrative probe against an agent whom police arrested for selling illegal drugs in Bohol last week.
PDEA-7 Regional Director Adrian Alvariño said the agents will investigate IOI Steven Valles for possible administrative liabilities.
Valles of Toledo City was arrested after he sold three packs of suspected shabu worth P100,000 to operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch of Bohol Provincial Police Office last Friday night.
Alvariño said he will not tolerate his men’s wrongdoings and will let Valles defend himself of the charges.
Cebu City Police Office chief Senior Supt. Ramon Buenafe said he never received previous reports of Valles involved in illegal drugs./correspondent chito aragon
