4 killed, 14 hurt in Quezon highway accident

CALAUAG, Quezon, Philippines — Four persons were killed while 14 others were injured in a three-vehicle smash-up along the Maharlika Highway here early dawn Sunday, police said.
Chief Insp. Edcille Canals, Quezon police public information officer, said that at around 3 a.m. in Barangay Sta. Milagrosa, a Manila-bound Toyota Innova sideswiped the reserved tire attached to the left side of an incoming Hyundai van.
The impact caused the van to collide with an incoming jeepney and injured Hyundai van passengers Felisa Sangcap and Pedro Quintella and their driver Domingo Endaya; and jeepney driver Severo Muit.
They were all rushed to the Saint Peter General Hospital in Calauag but they all died while being treated at the hospital, said Canals.
He said 14 other passengers of the three vehicles suffered injuries but were all declared safe.
