Girl accuses father of raping her
A 13-YEAR-OLD girl claimed she was raped by her father in their house in barangay Basak, Mandaue City.
The girl tried to keep the incident to herself but she was forced to reveal the alleged abuse when her relatives confronted her about her bulging stomach, PO2 Janice Mag-asin said.
Police said it was confirmed that the girl is now five months pregnant.
The girl, eldest among four siblings, said her father was drunk when she was raped past midnight in Nov. 11 last year.
The girl said she was sleeping on a bed when her father arrived.
The girl said she tried to get up and shout for help but her father grabbed her.
The girl said she resisted but was overpowered.
Rape charges on Thursday were filed against the father before Mandaue City Prosecutors’ Office.
The girl’s mother is working abroad.
Senior Insp. Wilson Abot, chief of Basak police station, said they are still waiting for the release of an arrest warrant against the suspect before they could arrest him./REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
